Up In The Air | Monica Burgess

Today I had plans to share my story of how I met my Fiancé but as I learn and grow I've realized just because you have something to say or post doesn't mean it needs to be said or done at that time. I love the fact that I could post such a wonderful part of my life however I do not feel led to post it yet, one day!

Has today left you feeling a little unproductive, unstable a little frazzled? These days look a lot like me seeing my lists of to-do's and not even attempting to do any of them. I AM OVERWHELMED.

I have had many days like this... and I believe everyone does no matter what responsibilities you carry. Here's how I learn to not be overwhelmed!

About 4 months ago I had this strong feeling to clean out my closet. It was a random thought and feeling that drove me until I actually did it. I may have been a bit dramatic and crazy when I was set to only have 5 outfits in my closet but okay guy's that was a little extreme. I now have 20-30 pieces of clothing I wear on a daily basis. This random act of letting things go was the start of my understanding and appreciating that the less I have allows me to appreciate more and not feel so cluttered and overwhelmed mentally.

This has been a big one for me, one I am still working on today! Knit picking the smallest details or things people would say or things people would do and how they would do them started to drive me crazy!! I wanted to understand why things were done the way they were done and why people said what they said. I needed to STOP THINKING! My thoughts literally went in a circle, am I doing this right, what am I doing wrong.

These things don't matter... What does matter is the heart. Why are you doing what your doing? Is it being done with a pure heart? When you are doing and saying the things that come from your heart you are a free person! You are showing who you truly are. STOP OVERTHINKING and JUST BE.

Learn to love your life, your process, your body, your smile, your laugh. Stop comparing yourself to the pretty girl sitting next to you or the buff guy looking down at you, tell her she's beautiful and the dude ( man, you must work out allot haha, joking ) without thinking your less. Tell yourself you're beautiful and believe it with your whole heart. Think of it like this, everyone has a garden and some may look more alive than yours, each garden goes through seasons and your garden may be in another season. Take care of your garden and love on your garden. Enjoy what you have! We are all worthy of life and love no matter what you look like, smell like, dress like. We are all learning and growing.

I hope this helps some of you in whatever season of life you may be in. I am daily learning that what God has in store for my life is so much more than what I could ever dream of or imagine and holding onto my life and my wants and desires will only distract me and detour me from His true purpose in the earth and I will taste and see that HE IS GOOD

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
